L.A. McCoy Photography offers custom black and white and color portraiture that captures all of the beautiful moments of life. Working in an artistic and documentary style, with just a touch of whimsy thrown in, Lori McCoy's work is as unique as the individuals she photographs. During any session, Lori's goal is to create a portrait that you will be proud to hang in your home and share with family and friends.

Maternity Portrait
Also known as Pregnancy Portraits or Mother-to-Be Portraits, the maternity session is designed to capture the wonder and beauty of the female form during the last months of pregnacy. Your portrait session can be scheduled any time after the 32nd week. Depending on how you feel while pregnant, you may want to wait until you are 35 or 36 weeks along to really show off those pregnancy curves. Should you desire to document your entire pregnancy, several sessions can be scheduled through out the 9 months. Please use the contact page to inquire about this special service.

Most clients prefer the privacy and sanctity of their own home as the location for their maternity portrait session. These sessions can be as fun and flirty or as modest and classic as you like. Your personal preferences will be discussed during the portrait consultation.

Newborn Portrait
The perfect time for a newborn session is during the first four weeks of life. It is important to capture all the "newness" of your infant. The wrinkled skin, the tiny, clenched hands and that unmistakable newborn curl are signatures of a newborn session. During your newborn portrait session, time is alotted for nursing, and breaks, this ensures a relaxed mood for mommy and baby. And, there is no need to worry about packing up the diaper bag and taking your precious newborn to a studio, your home and nursery make the perfect environment for this portrait session.

Due to the tight timeframe for newborn sessions, they are given extra priority. Within the first few days after your newborns' birth, please call to book your portrait session. You are also welcome to schedule your newborn session early should you have a solid delivery date due to planned induction or scheduled c-section.

Infant Portrait
Once your child reaches three months old, it is time to schedule an infant portrait session. No longer a sleepy newborn, your baby is now alert and participating in his world. Documenting your child's first year of life with several portrait sessions will ensure that you don't miss any of the amazing changes they will go through.

If you are a parent of multiples, Lori is happy to work with twins and triplets in addition to single infants. Please call to discuss your unique family needs.

Childhood Portrait
These portrait sessions capture the splendor and magic of childhood. Allowing your child to play and explore their surroundings, these sessions are designed for your child to have a great time, which in turn, results in great portraits. As a mother of a toddler herself, Lori understands that getting on a child's level and speaking directly to them is important. She can talk at length about Pooh Bear, the Wiggles and Thomas the Tank Engine and for those tough cases, she's currently working on her backflip skills.

While it is recommended that clothing be kept simple, you are welcome to bring along some of your child's favorite "dress up" clothes. Tutu's, cowboy hats, fairy wings, anything that sparks your child's imagination can be worked in to the portrait session. As precious as traditional portraits are, it's wonderful to also have some that really show their silly side.

Senior Portrait
So much more than just "senior pictures", this one is all about high school seniors and showcasing their personality, interests and lifestyle. L.A. McCoy Photography Senior Portraits are modern, edgy, creative and unique, perfect for students that want something as individual as they are. You won't see the same location and boring poses being used over and over and there is no limit on poses or outfits. You can select a park location, a downtown location, or your own home to serve as the backdrop for your session. Want a range of looks, then why not select a combination of locations? It's all about designing a session that is custom to you. For a full range of looks, color, black and white, high contrast, and color tinted portraits are available for senior sessions.

Sessions are available for high school students in the central Indiana area including those attending Avon, Ben Davis, Brebeuf, Brownsburg, Carmel, Hamilton Southeastern, North Central, Park Tutor, Pike, Plainfield, Westfield, and Zionsville.
